Make your Minecraft test reproducible

A useful result tells another player what happened, under what conditions, and how to check it. This worksheet is a method for recording future tests, not a claim that Gaia has performed them.

Record before testing

  • The question, expected behavior, and what would disprove your expectation.
  • Edition, exact version, world settings, seed where relevant, server software, mods, and configuration.
  • For performance comparisons: hardware, resolution, render/simulation distance, measurement duration, and other running applications.

Keep the evidence

Record the procedure, inputs, repetitions, raw results, failures, and screenshots of the actual game. Change one condition at a time when comparing options. Label generated illustrations separately from screenshots.

Publish the limits

State what your test did not cover. Keep measured observations separate from calculations and recommendations. Include permission and attribution for contributed worlds or media, and remove personal details before sharing logs.

Review and correct

A second person should be able to follow the procedure. If a game update changes the result, record the new conditions and preserve the original date and limitations.
